Joe Biden refers to Donald Trump as a “sick f---” when speaking with longtime friends and close aides behind closed doors, sources have told US media.

Three people have heard Mr Biden, who is known for his salty language, use the term, Politico reported. According to one of the sources, Mr Biden recently exclaimed “What a f---ing a--hole the guy is”.

Mr Biden last month appeared to come close to swearing in public about Mr Trump when he gave a speech at Valley Forge to mark the third anniversary of the January 6 insurrection.

“At [Donald Trump’s] rally, he jokes about an intruder, whipped up by the Big Trump Lie, taking a hammer to Paul Pelosi’s skull,” the president said.

“And he thinks that’s funny. He laughed about it, What a sick...”

The president let his thoughts hang while the crowd reportedly cheered and chuckled.

Biden is known for his temper

Behind closed doors, Mr Biden is reported to have a short fuse. According to a report from Axios last year, the president is known to privately lose his temper and yell at staff.

Mr Biden’s temper is said to be so notorious that some of his staff will not meet with him alone.

According to current and former aides to the president who have witnessed or been on the receiving end of some of the outbursts, some of his admonitions include: “God dammit, how the f--k don’t you know this?,” “Don’t f--king bulls--t me,” and “Get the f--k out of here.”

In 2022 Mr Biden was also caught during a hot-mic moment, referring to a Fox News reporter as “a stupid son of a b--ch”.

The White House declined to comment to Politico on the latest reports.

In response to Mr Biden’s alleged remarks, the Trump campaign said: “It’s a shame that Crooked Joe Biden disrespects the presidency both publicly and privately.”

In a new poll by Quinnipiac University released on Wednesday, Mr Biden now leads Mr Trump by six points among registered voters, up from a one-point lead in December.
