Joe Jonas Won't Be at the Emmys with Sophie Turner for a Valid Reason

From Harper's BAZAAR

  • Joe Jonas couldn't attend the Emmys to support wife Sophie Turner, who is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her work on Game of Thrones, because of scheduling conflicts with the Happiness Begins tour.

  • Jonas showed his support for Turner from afar on Instagram, saying he's "so proud" of the actress.

If you’re going to be watching the Emmy Awards as intensely as the rest of us tonight, then you may notice that Sophie Turner, who was nominated for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, is attending the event stag. Where is her man, Joe Jonas?

Turns out that Turner’s husband actually has a pretty justifiable reason for not showing up to the ceremony. The musician is apparently tied up with the Jonas Brothers’ Happiness Begins tour. Tonight, Joe and his brothers are performing in Kansas City, MO, meaning he can’t be with his wife at the Emmys ceremony. He even shared photos on his Instagram Story from Arrowhead Stadium in the midwestern metropolis.

Still, Jonas is supporting his wife from thousands of miles away. He shared a photo of the actress on his IG Story and wrote, "I am so proud of you. You are nominated for an Emmy! You are incredible. I love you."

Turner responded, "I love you bubba!"

This year’s show is a big one for Turner; she was nominated for the first time, landing in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category. Jonas first professed how proud he was of Turner when her Emmy nomination—her first ever—was announced this summer. “Emmy nominated,” he captioned a photo with the actress in his Instagram Story at the time. “So incredibly proud of you.”

Even though they're not together, Sophie and Joe are one of the cutest couples of the night.
