Joe Mixon leaves Pittsburgh-Cincinnati game with concussion, per Bengals
Cincinnati running back Joe Mixon suffered a concussion during the third quarter of Sunday's Week 11 win against the Steelers in Pittsburgh, the Bengals announced.
He did not return to the game after the Bengals announced earlier in the third quarter that Mixon was being evaluated for a possible head injury.
Mixon had 20 rushing yards on seven carries and 42 receiving yards on three catches when he left to be evaluated. Samaje Perine had three receiving touchdowns in the game, becoming the first Bengals running back in team history with three TD catches in one game.
Joe Mixon had 153 rushing yards and 58 receiving yards two weeks ago against Carolina while scoring a franchise-record five touchdowns.
More via Twitter from The Enquirer's Charlie Goldsmith:
Joe Mixon being out has a big impact on play calling right now.
Can Samaje Perine play 100% of the snaps. We haven't seen Trayveon Williams much since 2020. Is he more of a third down back or an early down back in their eyes? Do the Bengals need to go empty more?— Charlie Goldsmith (@CharlieG__) November 20, 2022
