Joe Musgrove is returning top-10 fantasy SP value

Drew Silva details how San Diego Padres SP Joe Musgrove has returned top-10 fantasy value despite his ADP.

DREW SILVA: Pay the man is what Manny Machado told the gathered media after Joe Musgrove pitched seven scoreless innings as part of the Padres 2-1 victory over the Giants on Saturday, May 21st. That performance moved Musgrove's win/loss record to 5 and 0 through eight starts, and dipped his season ERA down to 1.90. He's put together a 51 to 9 strikeout to walk ratio in 52 innings, all with great timing because, as Machado alluded to, Musgrove is scheduled to become a free agent five days after the 2022 World Series concludes.

He'll be 29 years old, and potentially looking for something in the $200 to $250 million range if he keeps this up to even some degree. Since the Padres acquired him from the Pirates ahead of the 2021 season, Musgrove has registered a 2.89 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 254 strikeouts across 233 total frames. As steady as they come, he has returned top 10 starter value in fantasy after being drafted just outside the top 20. Somebody is going to be paying this man five or six months from now.
