Heading into Super Bowl Sunday, the Philadelphia 76ers were sitting at the top of the East. They have been getting the usual star play out of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons and even Tobias Harris has fashioned himself an All-Star caliber star.

However, the big fella is not satisfied with the team’s play just yet. Just as coach Doc Rivers is not sure who the Sixers are just yet, Embiid says the team still has some work to do after a 124-108 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.

“We got a long way to go,” said Embiid. “I don’t think we’re close to where we want to be. Me, personally, I don’t think I’m close to where I want to be and I know for sure I would say we’re not there yet. Every day we’re still learning how to play with each other, but I still think we got a long way to go. We got more to give.”

That has been the most impressive thing with Embiid to begin the season. He has been putting up some monstrous numbers and he has been a handful all season. He had 33 points and nine rebounds in the win over Brooklyn and he made it look easy.

Yet, he still believes he and the team still have more to give. That is the mindset the team needs right now moving forward.

“I think he’s realizing how dominant he is down there,” Simmons said of his star teammate. “He continues just to get better. Especially with the passing, his patience. He lets the game come a little bit more now. He’s just been dominant. I haven’t seen anybody who can stop him nobody’s doing it.”

The Sixers will look to continue to get better starting Tuesday to begin a road trip against the Sacramento Kings.
