John Hugley sitting out remainder of season, cites mental and physical health

Jan. 14—Current Pittsburgh Panthers big man and former Brush Arc John Hugley will sit out the remainder of the season. In a post on Twitter, Hugley discussed his mental health and a nagging preseason injury.

This season, Hugley played in eight games and averaged eight points and 3.6 rebounds. Last year, he averaged 14.8 and 7.9, respectively.

In the post, Hugley wrote: "I want nothing more than to be on the court with my teammates, however due to an injury and my mental health being a priority; after long discussions and talks with my coaches, family and mentors I have decided the best course of action will be for me to sit out the remainder of my season to fully invest in healing mentally as well as physically."
