Kerry admitted the United States is in favor of having the most frequent possible assessments of whether countries were meeting their Paris Agreement goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, saying it would be "negligent" to leave Glasgow with assessments set too infrequently.

He also said that of all the climate summits he had attended, this had more focus and a greater sense of urgency.
