John Legend and Chrissy Teigen Buy Second Manhattan Penthouse for $7.7 Million

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are upping their real estate ante with the purchase of a second penthouse in the landmarked Brewster Carriage House in New York City. The couple already own one penthouse in the building, which they bought for $9.02 million in 2018, and recently put down $7.7 million for a new triplex, the Real Deal reports.

Their new home spans nearly 3,500 square feet and features three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms spread out across the fifth and sixth floors of the building. (The one they already owned measures in at 2,610 square feet and takes up the rest of the sixth floor.) Both penthouses have access to the building’s enviable 1,500-square-foot rooftop terrace, which also features a built-in gas barbecue, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, and stunning views of NYC.

Indoors, the superstar pair’s new purchase boasts exposed brick walls, cast-iron columns, wide-plank wood floors, and 12-foot beamed ceilings. A listing labels the home’s aesthetic as a “mix of modern and historic elements.” The two main living areas include a gas-fireplace-anchored living room on the upper level and a large media room on the lower level, with a stately staircase featuring intricate iron work connecting the two floors. A sleek, updated kitchen and formal dining area are both located adjacent to the media room. The master bedroom is situated on the upper level, and boasts custom cabinetry and a large skylight; a walk-in closet and cavernous master bathroom with modern lighting fixtures and zen wood vanities round out the master suite’s offerings. The Brewster Carriage House was originally built back in the 19th century for carriage manufacturer Brewster & Co., and was converted into a luxury residential building in 2005.
