John Legend Just Shared His NSFW Secret to Great Skin

At 44 years old, singer John Legend's skin looks as bright and youthful as ever—and he credits this to his skincare, grooming and self-care regimen, which involves spending a lot of time naked in the shower with his wife, supermodel Chrissy Teigen.

"We shower a lot together, not to get too graphic," Legend recently told The Cut.

Jokes aside, Legend's skincare routine includes two facials a month, something which he acknowledged is not accessible or affordable for everybody. Additionally, his go-to skincare tips for anyone are to stay hydrated, and get eight hours of sleep as often as possible. "As a singer I always feel like I'm killing two birds with one stone by drinking a lot of water and resting, because I’m helping my voice and my skin," he said.

He added that managing stress by practicing meditation is another important part of his self-care routine. "Doing things like creating focus playlists help to be centered and focused," he said. "Mindfulness has always been important to me; it’s a part of your mental health, but it also shows up in your physical health."

Legend recently launched his own line of skincare products, Loved01, which he devised with the aim of making skincare as accessible as possible, especially for under-served Black consumers in the marketplace.

"Not a lot of products [are created] with melanin-rich skin in mind," he told People. "We feel that caring enough to center our research and our product development on melanin-rich skin is an expression of love, too."
