Sustainability has filled news headlines this year, but it’s also impacted our shopping.
According to John Lewis & Partners' annual retail report, eco-friendly products have proved to be one of the biggest shopping trends of the past 12 months.
In 2019, Glastonbury Festival made the decision to ban single-use plastic bottles for the first time, meanwhile Zara, Adidas, and other key retailers have pledged to use only recycled plastic by 2024.
The Government also announced in 2019 a forthcoming ban on sales of plastic straws, cotton buds and drink stirrers in England.
Consequently, sustainable products have become not only a mindful choice, but a must-have.
The retail sector has seen huge shift over the past 12 months in order to keep up with the increase in demand for eco-friendly products.

Within the last year, the retailer have also launched collapsible coffee cups, reusable travel cutlery and reusable beeswax sandwich wrappers in order to meet demand for plastic-free everyday essentials.
Reusable water bottles have also continued to be popular. The brand saw sales increase 15% the week before Glastonbury, as well as customers purchasing a range of bottles in different sizes and styles to fit in with their day-to-day activities.
