John and Orlena Marsh Foundation awarded grants totaling $43,119.56

The John and Orlena Marsh Foundation awarded grants totaling $43,119.56 during a recent meeting of its Trust Committee. The foundation was created by the late John J. Marsh, Sr. in December 1989.

Marsh was a local businessman involved in the operation and management of Marsh Lumber Co. which was established around 1914 and now operates as Marsh Industries.

The foundation was formed to support the charitable purposes of qualified charitable organizations located primarily within Tuscarawas County.

The grantees and amounts are: T-4-C Youth Booster Program, $5,000; Dover-Phila Food Pantry, $5,000; Tuscarawas County Rainbow Connection, $5,000; Project Lead The Way, $2,500; Tuscarawas County YMCA, $5,000; American Red Cross Stark & Muskingum Lakes Chapter, $2,500; United Way of Tuscarawas County, $3,000; Blessings in a Backpack, $5,000; Salvation Army, $2,000; Buckeye Career Center/New Philadelphia Fire Department burn building project, $2,119.56; Dennison Fire Department, $3,000; and Tuscora Park Foundation, $3,000.
