Actor Keanu Reeves is coming to North Texas next month to rock.

The “John Wick” and “Speed” star is performing with his band Dogstar at the Granada Theater in Dallas on Sept. 26. Tickets are on sale now and start at $50.

It’s been a long road for Reeves and Dogstar.

The band formed in 1991 after Reeves met Robert Mailhouse in a Los Angeles grocery store, according to GQ. The two became fast friends from their love of hockey and music, Reeves with the bass guitar and Mailhouse on drums.

A year later the pair met Gregg Miller, a singer and guitarist, and started jamming in a garage. Bret Domrose joined the band in 1994 as an additional vocalist and by 1995 the band embarked on tour, even opening for David Bowie once. .

Miller left the band at the end of the 1995 tour, but the three members remained and released albums in 1996 and 2000. However, by 2002 the ride was over.

Reeves’ acting career continued to grow. Band members wondered if they were ever truly finding an audience with their music, or if fans were simply there to see “The Matrix” star on stage, according to GQ.

But more than two decades later, Dogstar is back.

The band announced through a social media post in July 2022 that Reeves, Mailhouse and Domrose were back together and working on new music, according to Variety. Flash forward to earlier this May, where the band performed for the first time since 2002.

Dogstar is also making new music in addition to going on tour. The band’s first single and music video in more than 20 years released in July, and their newest album “Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees” is dated for Oct. 6.

Dogstar has already begun its new tour, with other Texas stops planned for Houston and Austin. Find tickets for Dogstar’s Dallas show here.
