We finally have an answer as to who will start at quarterback for the Rams on Saturday, and it’s not as if Sean McVay had much of a choice in the matter. McVay announced on Thursday that John Wolford will not play against the Packers, ruling him out already due to a neck injury.

He will travel with the team, but he will be inactive for the game. That means Jared Goff will get the start under center in the divisional round, with Blake Bortles backing him up.

Undrafted rookie Bryce Perkins could also be active as an emergency third quarterback but McVay is undecided on that as of now.

Wolford suffered a stinger in Saturday’s win over the Seahawks and was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. Goff is still dealing with a thumb injury after undergoing surgery on it just over two weeks ago.

Wolford started against Seattle but was replaced by Goff after suffering the neck injury. Goff finished the game 9-for-19 with 155 yards and one touchdown in Los Angeles’ 30-20 win.
