Johnny Appleseed to host winter classes

Jan. 17—LIMA — Johnny Appleseed Park District is hosting classes for children to learn about white-tailed deer. According to a recent press release, children ages 3-5 are welcome to join the classes with an adult. The children will sing, create and hear stories. The release also states participants should dress for a hike. The classes will be held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 1 and 2 at McElroy Environmental Education Center, 2355 Ada Road. On Saturday, Feb. 3 classes will be held at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m.

The park will also host "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Teddy Bear Park, Hornung Shelter, 2004 N. Dixie Highway.

The Winter Wellness club will host "Jogging with Johnny" at 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5 at Ottawa Metro Park, Wyandot Shelter, 2632 Ada Road for any age.
