Watch: Johnny Depp made charity donations totalling almost $800,000 from sale of NFTs

Johnny Depp has donated some of the proceeds of NFT sales to a hospital associated with his ex-wife Amber Heard.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star's Never Fear Truth NFT (non-fungible token) has raised nearly $800,000 (£666,530) in total donations.

The money was split between four organisations, with some of it going to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

TMZ quoted her as saying at the time: "The donation will be divided equally between the ACLU, with a particular focus to stop violence against women, and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, where I have worked as a volunteer for the past 10 years."

Depp and Heard were recently involved in a high-profile defamation case, after Depp sued his former wife over an op-ed in which she said she was a "public figure representing domestic abuse”.

During the case - which went Depp's way - it emerged that Aquaman star Heard had not yet donated her entire seven million dollar settlement to charity.

As well as the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, the NFT proceeds will benefit Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and The Footprint Coalition.

The Perth hospital thanked Depp, tweeting: "Thank you so much @JohnnyDeppNFT for your generosity in helping support @PCHFWA and WA sick kids.

"These funds will make a significant impact in helping keep @PerthChildrens world-class for our children and families."
