Johnny Depp Says Amber Heard Put a Cigarette Out on His Face During Infamous Fight

Johnny Depp is making a new allegation public about his infamous fight with Amber Heard, claiming that after she threw a bottle at him that severed his finger, she "put a cigarette out" on his cheek.

Depp filed an amended response as part of his libel lawsuit against News Group Newspapers Limited and columnist Dan Wootton over a 2018 article that labeled the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star a "wife-beater."

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Depp reveals new allegations stemming the March 2015 fight between him and Heard in Australia. Depp claims the fight began after Heard spoke with his attorneys about his "intention to enter into a post-nuptial agreement." He says this caused Heard "to go into a rage."

The Alleged Cigarette Burn

Depp claims that he had been avoiding Heard that day but ultimately, after not having a drink for over a year, he "sought to avoid Ms. Heard by going to the downstairs bar in the house. She followed him, screaming at him abusively."

At that point, Depp claims "he poured himself a vodka and drank it." That's when he claims Heard threw a bottle at him and missed. He claims he had another drink and Heard then threw the second bottle, which resulted in Depp's infamous severed finger.

It is then that Depp claims, "Ms. Heard then put a cigarette out on [Depp's] right cheek."

The Blast has obtained a photo of Depp (see above) that was taken in an Australian hospital a few hours after the alleged incident took place. It shows the actor laying on a hospital gurney, with his hand bandaged, and what Depp's legal team says is the cigarette burn on his cheek.

Depp does admit that he then "wrote on a mirror and walls in blood and oil paint" but claims he was in shock at the time. He does deny urinating in the house.

He also denies taking ecstasy at any point during the trip.

The Airplane Incident

Johnny Depp also paints a different picture of two other incidents of alleged abuse.

Heard, in her response to Depp's $50 million defamation lawsuit, claimed that in May 2014, Depp became enraged because she was filming a movie with James Franco. She claimed during a flight on a private jet, he began throwing objects at her.

"At some point," she wrote, "I stood up, and Johnny kicked me in the back, causing me to fall over. Johnny threw his boot at me while I was on the ground. Johnny continued to scream obscenities until he went into the plane bathroom and passed out locked in the bathroom for the remainder of the flight."

Depp now claims that Heard was verbally harassing him during the fight and in an attempt to calm her, "stretched his leg out to playfully tap her on the bottom with his foot, but not reach her."

He claims Heard "took great offence at this harmless act and continued to verbally berate" him. Depp says he then went "to the plane's bathroom, locked the door and slept on the floor with a pillow."

The Painkiller Detox Incident

In the same declaration, Heard claimed that Depp kicked and slapped her — and also kicked a hole in the door — during a fight in the Bahamas in August 2014. She also claimed his live-in nurse and private doctor flew out during the trip to help handle his "manic episodes."

Depp claims that the real purpose of the trip was "to cure his dependence on painkillers." He says Heard was only there because she insisted on going in place of his assistant.

According to Depp, he "required 24 hour medical care and was frequently sedated because of the physically painful process of withdrawal." He claims that Heard "intervened and withheld medicine" from him which caused him to have "spasms and withdrawals."

He claims the doctor flew out because of that and they returned to Los Angeles sooner than planned.

Depp adds that he did not assault Heard or kick a hole in a door.

Depp's Attorney Addressed Newspapers Owners

Depp's attorney, Adam Waldman, tells The Blast, "The overwhelming body of evidence we already amassed unambiguously establishes Amber Heard as a serially violent abuser of both men and women, and obliterates her preposterous abuse hoaxes against Johnny Depp. Yet Ms. Heard remains propped up by hoax-enablers including Rupert Murdoch’s tabloid the Sun and her corporate and ‘philanthropic’ partners. Having already dismantled Ms. Heard's three most notorious abuse hoaxes, today we reply in UK court to her new frauds, which the Sun unwisely chose to cut and paste as their 'defense' against Mr. Depp’s defamation lawsuit.”

The Blast has reached out to a representative for Amber Heard but they have yet to respond.
