Johnson City Saladworks to close permanently on Feb. 16

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Saladworks at University Center in Johnson City announced its upcoming permanent closure on Tuesday, with its last day slated for Feb. 16.

A social media post by the business said after three and a half years at the West State of Frankin Road location, financial strains became more than owners could sustain.

The post went on to say that during its time in operation, Saladworks has employed over 100 people and supported numerous local organizations and school groups through more than $100,000 in sponsorships and donations.

Nominate: Tri-Cities Best Thrift Store

Saladworks said that over the coming week, some menu items and ingredients may become sold out, as inventory will dwindle while the location’s permanent closing date draws closer. Owners said in the post that any leftover perishables that remain following Feb. 16 will be donated to local food pantries and non-profits.

Saladworks thanked all its patrons for the nearly four years of support and reminded the public to support area small businesses as much as possible.

For every small business owner out there… I salute you! This is NOT an easy gig. If you have a favorite, go and patronize it. Talk it up! Don’t take it for granted because there is an owner back there risking it all to make it happen and they so appreciate your business I promise! Thank you again Johnson City and for all of our loyal patrons out there…we are so sorry to let you down. This has been an outstanding experience that I will never forget. Better to have fought and lost, than never fought at all…
