Johnstons celebrate 65th wedding anniversary
Charles and Sybil. Johnston, Wooster, are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. Charles Johnston and Sybil Joyce Chaffin were married Jan. 24, 1958, in El Dorado, Arkansas.
They are the parents of Anne Johnston of Cincinnati; Mary Jane (Jeff) Smith of Lake Tahoe, California; and Katherine (Mike) Vecchio of Orchard Park, New York. They have eight grandchildren.
Charles is a graduate of University of Arkansas and Lousiana State University, and Sybil is a graduate of the University of Arkansas.
Charles retired from the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in 2002 after serving as a faculty member in the Department of Animal Science and as the assistant director. Sybil taught preschool and retired from Peppermint Preschool in 1996.
The immediate family gathered this past summer in Wooster to celebrate.
