During the summer, my husband and I spend a few days each month in Temecula for relief from the heat. We stay in hotels for a couple of nights, play golf, visit wineries, meet up with friends from Canyon Lakes for lunch or dinner, shop second-hand stores and wander Old Town. We will not be doing so this summer due to the "behind closed doors" Temecula School Board's vote to remove books from the daily curriculum and because they are now considering the firing of a 20-year veteran superintendent.

In 1968, a California, and ultimately, a nationwide boycott on table grapes proved the voice of the people can make a change. So, wake up Temecula hotels, golf courses, restaurants, wineries and other small businesses: we will not be visiting you and we encourage others to do the same until the rights of our school children are protected in a public and open session of the school board.

Can’t the media find other Biden stories to cover?

Over the past few months (or maybe a couple of years) we've seen President Joe Biden take some falls, misspeak and at times, seem a little confused. OK, we get it. Wouldn't it be great if the media and press would move on to other stories and let Mr. Biden and his advisers do the job? Can't imagine reading or listening to this until the next election or 2028!?

Whatever happened to ‘obstruction of justice?’

The Durham report into the Trump/Russia collusion reported the FBI made "missteps" and was a "flawed" investigation. Really?

In 2016, it was reported Hillary Clinton's unauthorized computer, at her home, had been hacked by Russian operatives. The FBI instituted an investigation. As a result, Clinton used a program (BleachBit) to eradicate 30,000 emails and used hammers to destroy 13 BlackBerry communication devices (hmm). FBI Director James Comey gave her a pass. Whatever happened to "obstruction of justice?"

As a result of the scandal, Clinton's operatives provided the FBI with unsubstantiated info that Trump was colluding with Russia. The FBI opened a full investigation led by the lead agent (Peter Strzok) who texted Trump would not be president, "We’ll stop it."

This was followed by the two-year Special Counsel Mueller investigation. Those activities do not appear to be "missteps," but an attempt to affect an election and failing that a coup of a president.

Where are the evil doers now? Comey has become an author and appears on ABC at times. Strzok is an adjunct professor at Georgetown (is he teaching ethics?) and Lisa Page is a legal analyst on MSNBC. Apparently, no harm, no foul.

Like a good neighbor?

I enjoyed the article in The Desert Sun on home insurance rates. You might find this interesting: State Farm notified me Friday that a photographer will be on my property Wednesday morning to take photographs. Let the purge begin: it's not enough that State Farm is not issuing new policies but that they are looking for any excuse to cancel policies. I’ve been with State Farm for 30 years: Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there! Yeah, right.

Please, no more televising congressional hearings

Can we all agree that the televising of congressional hearings needs to stop. I don’t care which side of the aisle you are on – the elected officials use their time to boost their own egos and to embarrass the witness. Little of any value comes from these hearings as far as informing the public.
