Join the USS Constitution for high seas adventures on the big screen

USS Constitution celebrates 226th birthday

Set sail on the big screen with the USS Constitution’s free movie nights this summer.

The museum and ship, known as “Old Ironsides,” will kick off its series Friday, June 24 with “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” The swashbuckling adventure will screen on the spar deck.

Seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the movie will start at 8:30 p.m.

Before the movie begins, guests will have the opportunity to take part in family-friendly activities with museum educators and Museum Public Historian Carl Herzog. Guests will be able to learn about the connections between a pirate’s life aboard the Pearl and a sailor’s life aboard Old Ironsides.

General seating will be available, though attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for viewing. Small bags, food, and drinks are allowed on board. Alcohol is not permitted. Guests ages 18 and up will be asked to show a photo I.D. and pass through a security screening to board the ship.

Guests are reminded that the ship’s top deck requires the use of a ramp to board.

Summer Movie Nights will continue with “Master and Commander: the Far Side of the World” on July 15 and “Captain Phillips” on Aug. 20.
