Rain on us, JoJo!

Social media and former Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa continues to dominate this season of Dancing With the Stars as part of the show’s first same-sex couple.

Siwa and Johnson danced the Cha Cha this week, choosing the iconic pop duet "Rain on Me" by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande to dance to — and it was a joy to watch. You can really see how much fun Siwa is having, and how much she loves to dance.

“Last week being the first-ever same-sex couple on Dancing With the Stars made us feel so proud,” Siwa said in an interview in the episode. “Even though Jenna slipped, we had the highest score of the night. That was insane.”

While they didn’t quite get the highest score of the night this time, Siwa and Johnson ended up getting a 31 out of 40, giving them the second-highest score of the night, after Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten’s 32 out of 40.

“OMG That. Was. Unreal.” Siwa posted on Instagram following the episode. “I am still on cloud 9 from last night’s live show!!! DWTS gets better and more fun every single week!!” Siwa also said that the song was her “FAVORITE song ever.”

She continued, talking about how this week’s dance was more difficult than the first week’s. “This dance was a challenge for me, and I’m soooo proud of how it turned out. Thank you so much @jennajohnson for being by side and being the best dance partner on planet earth. I am so lucky that I get to share this journey with you. I am waiting to wake up from a dream. None of this feels real.”

She also said that she’s excited to show what she can do next, especially since the next episode is Britney Spears night. Now that’s something we can’t wait for!

Siwa’s appearance on DWTS is part of a rainbow wave coming to international versions of the show. The French version of the show also just got its first same-sex partners, as Eurovision star Bilal Hassani danced with Jordan Mouillerac to Sia’s “Courage to Change.”

Over on the original show, England’s Strictly Come Dancing, John Whaite has been paired up with professional dancer Johannes Radebe, to form the competition’s first male-male dance team. Whaite was the winner of Great British Bake Off, and the couple scored the second-highest score of the night in their first episode.
