JoJo Siwa had to deal with a frightening incident over the weekend after the police were called over to her house.

During an Instagram live with her friend and videographer, Nate Javier, JoJo says that paparazzi called the police to her home in order to take pictures of her after she had recently come out.

"Our house got swatted. We were at our house and, all of a sudden, there was a whole bunch of police telling us to come outside the house. And we didn't know why. we went outside, hands up like you have to. The police were saying that somebody had called and made a claim and then all of a sudden paparazzi came around the corner," she said. "It's called swatting where the media will actually call the police so that way you have to come out outside your house."

While it hasn't been officially confirmed whether or not paparazzi were the ones to call the police, swatting doesn't necessarily have to involve someone in the media making the call. Swatting is tricking the police to go to someone's house or location thinking there is a hostage situation or other incidents that will need a large police presence.

Swatting has become more popular throughout the years, and in some situations has even been deadly. One incident of swatting, involving a gamer calling the police on another player over Call of Duty, resulted in the death of the victim, as reported by Wired. This happens because the victim does not know what is going on and the police believe they are dealing with a high-risk incident.

JoJo continued by saying that she believes it happened due to her recent reveal that she's a part of the LGBTQ community.

"I recently told the internet how happy I was and told the internet that I am whatever I am. I told the internet, 'No matter gay, straight, or bi / Lesbian, transgendered life / I'm on the right track baby / I was born to survive.' The only reason why I'm not saying what I am is because I don't really know, but I know I'm really happy and that's all that matters," she continued. "But since I recently 'came out' to the internet, which is officially the term, the media is obviously very excited, which I love and I love the support. However, you know, you could've just hung outside my house and I would've eventually came outside."

"I feel bad because there was about 50 police outside my house and those police could have had much better time spent somewhere else actually helping somebody instead of dealing with a fake claim from paparazzi. Literally just come ring my doorbell, paparazzi. I'll wave to you from my window."

She also noted that more details would be revealed soon on her YouTube channel and that she expects the person who called in to face consequences.

"I did record the whole thing. It's sad to me that that's what it took for somebody to want to take a picture," JoJo said. "Never prank the police. That is the most wrong thing to do. It is very very illegal. The people will get in a lot of trouble."

Despite the very scary experience, JoJo and Javier remained in very good spirits and even joked around a lot while revealing what happened to them. Check out the full video below:
