Jonas family’s Nellie’s Southern Kitchen debuts Las Vegas restaurant

Nellie’s Southern Kitchen, based in Belmont and owned by the Jonas family, has made its splash on the Las Vegas strip.
That location at the MGM Grand hotel and casino marks the second for Nellie’s, which got its start in the small Gaston County city in 2016. The Jonas family — including father Kevin Sr. and wife Denise, youngest son Franklin and Jonas Brothers musical trio Kevin, Nick and Joe — teamed up with New York City-based investment firm TLI Bedrock on the venture. Plans for the 11,000-square-foot restaurant were announced last fall.

Nellie’s pays tribute to Kevin Jonas Sr.’s grandmother, who passed away in 2011. The restaurant represents the family’s North Carolina roots, which date to the 1760s, and features Southern comfort food.
