Jonathan Brand, Miami RedHawks pitcher, selected by Boston Red Sox in 2022 MLB Draft
Former Miami University RedHawks right-handed pitcher Jonathan Brand was selected Monday in the 2022 MLB Draft's 8th round - 249th overall - by the Boston Red Sox.
Brand, 8-2 with a 1.40 ERA last season for the RedHawks struck out 86 in 77.1 innings and was named first-team All-Mid-American Conference. His ERA ranked third in the country.
Brand, who transferred to Miami from East Georgia State College, finished his MU career 12-6 with a 2.84 ERA, striking out 181 in 155.1 innings.
