DYERSVILLE, IOWA – Jonathan India exited Thursday's Field of Dreams game in the fourth inning, three innings after he was hit by a pitch on his left leg.

India was hit on the fourth pitch of his first at-bat versus Cubs lefty Drew Smyly. He grimaced after he was hit and limped for a step, but he walked to first base without being checked by a trainer.

The Reds announced India left the game with a lower left leg contusion.

"It's going to be day to day," Reds Manager David Bell said. "It's not fractured. It just got him in a bad spot where as the game went on it got more swollen and he lost all flexibility. He was really having a tough time moving. It has to be significant to get him out of the game, but the good news is no fracture."

Matt Reynolds replaced India in the top of the fourth inning at second base and hit a two-run double in the seventh inning. India left Monday's game in New York in the fourth inning after he stepped awkwardly on first base, but he returned to the lineup the following day.

India, who was unavailable to speak to reporters after the game, struck out in the second inning and he didn't have any balls hit in his direction after he was hit by a pitch.

The Reds will close out their three-game series against the Chicago Cubs with games on Saturday and Sunday at Great American Ball Park.
