Jonathan Majors received an August trial date for his pending assault and aggravated harassment case.

The Creed III star appeared in court Tuesday morning for a preliminary hearing regarding the domestic violence charges against him. Variety reported the judge presiding over the case set a trial date for Aug. 3.

His rumored girlfriend, Meagan Good, was spotted holding hands with the actor as they exited the lower Manhattan courtroom.

Majors’ defense attorney, Priya Chaudhry, released a statement after the court appearance, requesting all charges be dropped against him.

“We strongly requested the District Attorney dismiss all charges against Mr. Majors immediately and initiate proceedings against Ms. Jabbari, holding her accountable for her crimes,” Chaudhry wrote, per the outlet. “While we are hopeful that the District Attorney is reviewing these materials in good faith and will do the right thing soon, to accelerate our case, we’ve requested a trial date ASAP.”

As Blavity reported, Majors was arrested on March 25 in New York City on charges of strangulation, harassment and assault. The 30-year-old victim told police she was assaulted by Majors and taken to a nearby hospital after “sustaining minor injuries to her head and neck.”

In April, the woman received an order of protection against the 33-year-old following the incident. His defense team worked tirelessly to obtain video and text messages to prove their client’s innocence. In addition to the evidence, they also had written statements from the alleged victim as she recanted the initial allegations against Majors.

“Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone. We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated,” Chaudhry said at the time, per Blavity.

Majors have reportedly been dropped from several projects since the allegations surfaced.
