Jonathan Taylor is the NFL's best running back. These 11 numbers prove it.

Colts running back Jonathan Taylor added another page Sunday to what has been an absurdly impressive season, rushing for 116 yards on 21 carries with a touchdown against the Jaguars.

Here are some more numbers to put his season so far in perspective.

937

Taylor's 937 rushing yards this season are tied for the most in the NFL, with the Titans' Derrick Henry (who is injured). Taylor's accomplished the feat on just 161 carries, while Henry has done it in 219 attempts.

83

Taylor's 83-yard carry against Houston on Oct. 17 was the longest rush of the season — and the longest in Colts history.

54

Taylor leads the league with 54 first-down carries. Henry, with 49, is second.

3.05

Taylor is the most efficient rusher in the league, according to the NFL's efficiency stat.

"Rushing efficiency is calculated by taking the total distance a player traveled on rushing plays as a ball carrier according to Next Gen Stats (measured in yards) per rushing yards gained. The lower the number, the more of a North/South runner."

275

Taylor shouldn't be this good — at least according to his RYOE (rushing yards over expected) number. The Next Gen stat calculates the difference between actual rushing yards and expected rushing yards on a play, using things like down, distance, yard line, defensive alignment and offensive line grades. Taylor's RYOE says he would only be "expected" to have 662 rushing yards so far. He's averaging 1.75 extra yards per carry.

7

Taylor has rushed for a touchdown in seven consecutive games, which is the longest streak in the league. A Colt hasn't done it since Curtis Dickey in 1980.

90.2

PFF grades each tailback in football. The grading process is a bit complicated — here's an explainer — but Taylor is the top-ranked back in the league for his running ability, with a 90.2 grade. PFF says Atlanta's Cordarrelle Patterson is the top back overall (Taylor gets dinged for his pass blocking).

488

Taylor has gained more than half of his yards this season — 488 of them — before contact. That number is most in the league.

5

Taylor has rushed for more than 100 yards in five of his 10 games this season — and he was under the century mark in each of his first three games. Henry has also accomplished the feat five times so far this season.

22.05

Taylor reached a top speed of 22.05 miles per hour on his 78-yard touchdown rush against the Jets. He had the second-fastest time on a 32-yard run that was negated by a penalty vs. Tennessee in Week 8.
