Jones to run for Wichita County Treasurer in 2022

A math teacher and former employee in the Wichita County Auditor’s Office said he will run for County Treasurer.

Stephen Jones said he will seek the Republican nomination for the office being vacated by longtime auditor Bob Hampton.

The Cache, Okla. native has a degree in accounting from Cameron University and has most recently worked as a math teacher in Throckmorton while living in Wichita Falls.

”I am great as a numbers guy but the political world is new to me,” Jones said.

The filing period end Dec. 13 for the party primaries March 1, 2022.

  • County Judge

  • County Commissioner, Precinct 2

  • County Commissioner, Precinct 4

  • County Treasurer
