Joplin city offices to close for Thanksgiving holiday

Nov. 21—Joplin city offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. That includes the Joplin Recycling Center and MAPS transportation services.

City Hall and other city services, except for the Recycling Center, will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. Monday.

The Recycling Center will be open Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday, which is its regular schedule. It is open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The police and fire departments, Joplin Regional Airport and the city's wastewater division will continue to operate through the Thanksgiving holiday.

Residential trash and curbside recycling pickup will not occur on Thursday because of the holiday. Those routes will be run Friday, and Friday routes will be picked up Saturday.
