Joplin police probing motel shooting

Feb. 15—Joplin police are investigating the shooting of a man this afternoon at a motel on Range Line Road.

Officers responded at 12:24 p.m. to a report of shots fired at the Motel 6 at 3031 S. Range Line Road, where they found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man, whose identity is being withheld at this time, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

A second man believed to have been the shooter and a handgun were located at the scene. The shooter is reported to be cooperating with police at this point in their investigation and no charges have been brought as yet.
