Jordan tells Israel it won't renew lease over territory under peace treaty

AMMAN, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Jordan told Israel on Sunday it would not renew a 25-lease of two tracts of territory along its border, where Israel had certain rights under a 1994 peace treaty, the state news agency said.

Under the treaty, Israel retained private land ownership and special travel rights in Baquora in the northwestern part of the kingdom and Ghumar in the south. (Reporting by Suleiman Al-Khalidi; editing by John Stonestreet)
