Jordanians with Down Syndrome form dance troupe

STORY: This group of young Jordanians with Down Syndrome have formed a dance troupe

Location: Amman, Jordan

Every Saturday, they get together and perform the traditional dance dabke

at various public events and weddings

Having faced bullying, the group gives them a chance to make friends

“My son Laith, he is comfortable here, he likes this place. This place makes him look forward to dabke a couple of days ahead (of practice). He wants to go to Um Hashem, one of the trainers, he wants to see Salah, Hashem, Abdullah. It makes him happy. I felt his life changed since he joined the dabke group, he changed psychologically, he is more active, his whole life changed.”
