SINGAPORE — Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo will become the Chairman of the PAP Community Foundation (PCF) Council of Management with effect from next Monday (13 June).

Teo will also take over as Chairman of the PCF Charity Management Committee on the same day.

She succeeds Finance Minister Lawrence Wong, who chaired the PCF Council of Management and the PCF Charity Management Committee from 2016 to 2022.

PCF is the People’s Action Party's social and charitable arm.

Teo served as a member of PCF’s Executive Committee for 12 years and its Chairman from 2016 to 2020. She was appointed Deputy Chairman of the PCF Council of Management in October 2020.

Under Wong’s leadership, the charity foundation strengthened the PCF preschool services, with full day childcare capacity almost doubled from 2016 to 2022, PCF said in a statement.

Wong also led the expansion of PCF Sparkletots’ preschool services to purpose built facilities. He also spearheaded other community initiatives such as the PCF Sparkle Support Package.

Wong said, “I am confident that PCF will continue to do more to advance the well-being of the community under the capable and experienced leadership of Minister Josephine Teo.”

Teo said, “I look forward to serving PCF as its new Chairman. PCF will continue to do its best to provide quality and affordable preschool education, and uplift the welfare of our seniors and the community.”
