Josh Hartnett has confirmed he welcomed a third child with Tamsin Egerton back in 2019.

The Pearl Harbor actor and his St Trinian’s star partner have preferred to keep their family out of the spotlight, opting not to disclose their children's names publicly.

In a new interview with Mr Porter, Hartnett told the publication that being a "father of three" was what he was most proud of, while the article states he and Egerton's third child was born in late 2019.

Emphasising how important family life is to him, the 42-year-old said: "The thing I am most proud of is that I’m a father of three and I have a good relationship with my partner and a great family life and I’m still able to do good work and, as I’ve got older, the characters have become more interesting.”

He also spoke on how the family, who reside on the border of Surrey and Sussex, have coped with three small children aged one, three, and five, during the pandemic and that it takes "a lot of work".

Hartnett shared: "We’ve been trying to keep them occupied as best we can, but it’s a lot of work and it takes both of us all day and by the end of it all we want to do is reach for a bottle of wine and go to sleep.”

The star explained he steered away from a glittering Hollywood career making big-budget films in order to "have a life" as he put family and friends above "chasing a Hollywood dream".
