Tennessee basketball forward Josiah-Jordan James injured his left ankle in the final minute of the Vols' loss over Vanderbilt on Wednesday in Nashville.

James was helped off the floor by a Vols staffer and Uros Plavsic with 17.2 seconds left after turning his ankle while battling for a rebound on a Tennessee defensive possession in the 66-65 loss at Memorial Gym.

The senior out of Charleston, South Carolina, tried to hop off the floor after turning his ankle right in front of the Vanderbilt basket, but was in too much pain.

UT coach Rick Barnes said after the game that James suffered a sprained left ankle.

James has been a steady contributor and starter for the Vols, averaging 10.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He led the Vols in points (15) and rebounds (14) in last Saturday's home win over Auburn. James, who missed time earlier this season with knee soreness, has seven double-digit scoring performances in 16 total games.

The Vols forward struggled from the field on Wednesday (1 of 7 shooting) but added five rebounds and three steals in 29 minutes before leaving the game.

Vanderbilt won the game with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Tyrin Lawrence, halting the Vols' winning streak over their in-state rival at 11.
