Journey, Ricochet, Frank Ray highlight big name concerts in 2024 southern New Mexico

Southern New Mexico will play host to several big bands in 2024.

From Las Cruces to Carlsbad, here is a look at who is coming to southern New Mexico to perform.

Frank Ray returns to Las Cruces

At 9 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Rio Grande Theater, the former police officer turned country music singer performs a ‘Partytenders Concert’ just in time for Valentine’s Day, noted the Rio Grande Theater website.

Ray has had two No. 1 singles and three top 10 singles on the Texas Country Music charts, according to his website.

Ricochet plays in Alamogordo in March

At 7 p.m. March 9 at the Flickinger Center for the Performing Arts, Ricochet performs in a fundraiser for the Thrive in Southern New Mexico organization.

Formed in 1996, the group had a No. 1 song, “Daddy’s Money” on the country music chars during its rookie year.

Ricochet also scored with two top 10 hits, “What Do I Know” and “Love Stronger than Pride.”

Journey Freedom tour lands in Las Cruces

At 7:30 p.m. March 21 at the Pan American Center, the legendary rock group performs as part of its 50th anniversary tour.

The founder of the group, Neal Schon, is slated to be on stage, according to the group’s website.

He is the lead guitarist of the group, song writer and is also a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.

Josh Abbott headlines CavernFest in June

June 8 in downtown Carlsbad, the Josh Abbott Band takes center stage during the annual street festival held near the Eddy County Courthouse.

The Lubbock-based band has been around for 15 years and consists of eight members, according to the group’s website.

The band’s latest and seventh album is “Somewhere Down the Road.”
