JSO hosting recruiting events this month at Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia colleges

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is hosting a series of college recruitment events throughout Florida and Georgia throughout the remainder of the year.

Positions include but are not limited to correction and police officers, vehicle coordinators and crossing guards.

JSO will be holding its recruitment events:

  • Flagler College - Commons Hospitality Suite

    • Oct. 24, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

    • Fall 2023 Accounting Networking Fair

  • Georgia Southern University - University Hall (Armstrong Campus), 11935 Abercorn St.

    • Oct. 25, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

    • Criminal Justice Career & Internship Fair

  • Valdosta State University - Student Union, 1500 N. Patterson St.

    • Oct. 25, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

    • Valdosta State Career Fair

  • Flagler College

    • Oct. 25, 4 p.m. - 5 p.m.

    • Wednesday Workshop - How to Interview

    • City of Jacksonville’s Career Fair

In addition, JSO will be participating in events at First Coast Technical College, San Jose Cecil High School, the Pace Center for Girls and the University of North Florida. The UNF event will include mock interviews to prepare students for the job market.

Important Application Deadlines:

  • December 2023 Corrections Academy Class - Applications must be submitted by Nov. 1.

  • January 2024 Police Academy Class - Applications must be submitted by Dec. 6.
