JSX adds new Phoenix-California flight. How to fly the semiprivate airline from Sky Harbor

Need a faster and more seamless way to fly from Phoenix to California? JSX is adding a new twice-daily nonstop flight between Phoenix and Oakland beginning Feb. 18. Introductory fares start at $199 one way and include two checked bags and onboard cocktails and snacks.

The airline says it offers "hop-on jet service" that uses 30-passenger jets that take off from and land at private terminals. JSX is in its third year of flying passengers from the Swift Terminal at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Because JSX uses smaller planes and terminals, passengers experience less crowding and less time going through security screening.

"What we try to do is create something between an airline ticket and a private jet," CEO Alex Wilcox told The Arizona Republic in 2019.

Other JSX flights from Phoenix

The company targets destinations that are fewer than 500 miles apart. From Phoenix, travelers can also fly JSX to Las Vegas and Burbank, California.

The airline is expanding its service to other West Coast cities as well. Starting March 6, it's adding one new flight per day between Burbank and Las Vegas and another between Burbank and Concord/Napa.

How to book a JSX flight

A couple of dates to Las Vegas have tickets for $99 one way; most prices are higher. Book at jsx.com.
