JTRAN buses to operate on Saturday route schedule daily until mid-February

Bus services around the city of Jackson will soon run on a Saturday schedule all week long as COVID-19 cases continue to impact drivers.

City officials announced Friday the schedule shift will begin Monday and last until at least Feb. 12. Service for fixed routes and paratransit will begin at 6:30 a.m. and end at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, according to the JTRAN website. Bus service does not operate on Sundays or select holidays.

On Wednesday, officials said the system was facing a worker shortage that would cause route closures and delays around the city.

Residents around the city are encouraged to check for "rider alerts" through the JTRAN website (https://www.jacksonms.gov/rideralerts/) for daily updates. Riders seeking additional information can contaJTRAN Customer Service at 601-925-1000.
