A judge Friday blocked the placement of a 66-year-old man designated a sexually violent predator in a La Crescenta neighborhood.
- Relief today for a group of La Crescenta parents fighting to keep a violent sexual predator out of their neighborhood. A judge in Hollywood just decided Calvin Grassmier will not be released to a home in La Crescenta. Grassmier was convicted of sex crimes against children back in the '90s.
Neighbors showed up outside court today to protest during that hearing. They said there are a lot of children in the neighborhood, along with an elementary school and a community park. No word yet on where he could be placed instead.
