Judge grants bond to school bus driver accused of touching himself on bus with children onboard
A Gwinnett County school bus driver charged with sex crimes was granted bond Friday.

Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach went to the Gwinnett County jail Friday, where Steven Wilkins waived his preliminary hearing. Wilkins has ben locked up since his arrest on Feb. 27.

The 63-year-old is charged with four counts of felony child molestation and public indecency. Court documents allege the bus driver exposed and touched himself on his bus four different times, each with one or two students on board.
The incidents happened on school property at Suwanee Elementary School as students were let out.

A concerned parent tipped off the school, reporting Wilkins and his suspicious behavior. Resource officers then launched an investigation , looking at video taken from inside the bus.
Wilkins was immediately removed from his route and then resigned. The district confirmed hi did pass a background check to get the job.
Wilkins attorney and prosecutor agreed to waive his hearing and to a $15,0000 bond. Once he leaves jail, there will be special conditions. Wilkins will not be allowed on school property or to have contact with any of the victims.
