Judge Refuses To Extradite Sacramento Man Back To Iraq In Murder Case

A federal judge in Sacramento refused Wednesday to allow the extradition to Iraq of a man accused of committing a killing for the Islamic State, saying cellphone evidence shows he was in Turkey at the time of the slaying.

- The Sacramento man accused of killing an Iraqi police officer may soon walk free. A federal judge ordered the release of Omar Ameen right away, that is, unless prosecutors present new charges. Prosecutors claimed Ameen was an ISIS terror leader and killed an Iraqi police officer back in 2014. But his attorneys have argued for two years he was in the country of Turkey with his family at that time.
