Judges Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke walk off in protest after ‘The Masked Singer’ unveils Rudy Giuliani

“The Masked Singer” judges Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke reportedly left the stage after the show unveiled Rudy Giuliani as one of its costumed contestants.
The reveal was filmed last week and will be included in the first episode of “The Masked Singer” Season 7 when it premieres next month, according to Deadline. Jeong, 52, and Thicke, 44, reportedly stormed off the stage in protest as soon as Giliuani’s mask was removed.
Fellow judges Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger remained onstage and had a friendly exchange with the former New York City mayor and President Donald Trump’s former attorney.
Jeong and Thicke eventually returned to the stage, but reports did not reveal what happened afterward. It is also unknown how “The Masked Singer” host Nick Cannon reacted to the former mayor’s unmasking.
Giuliani’s surprise appearance was not the first time “The Masked Singer” sparked outrage by unveiling a political figure. The show unmasked The Bear as Alaska’s former Republican governor Sarah Palin on the March 11 episode of Season 3.
News of Giuliani’s appearance on “The Masked Singer” has created discussions on social media, with “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane tweeting, “Anything for ratings, right?"

“The Masked Singer has no business allowing Rudy Giuliani on the air,” political analysis outlet Palmer Report wrote on Twitter. “He’s not a ‘controversial figure.’ He’s under federal criminal investigation for seditious conspiracy against the United States. He’s a terrorist. Props to Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke for walking out in protest.”

The House Select Committee, which was tasked to investigate the Capitol Hill riot on Jan. 6, 2021, issued a subpoena against Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, Sidney Powell and Boris Epshteyn on Jan. 18, CNN reported. “The four individuals we've subpoenaed today advanced unsupported theories about election fraud, pushed efforts to overturn the election results, or were in direct contact with the former President about attempts to stop the counting of electoral votes," Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) said in a statement.
The latest season of Fox’s “The Masked Singer” is set to premiere on March 9.
