An official trailer released in March gave us our first glimpse at the iconic characters' history together as students at Jujutsu High.

The trailer also gave us a first look at the pair's classmate Riko Amanai and the mysterious man sent to assassinate her, Toji Fushiguro – grandfather of Yuji Itadori's brooding BFF Megumi.

We also know that, following the flashback arc, the show will return to present-day Jujutsu High for the manga's Shibuya Incident arc.

Jujutsu Kaisen tells the story of Yuji Itadori, a Japanese teenager who joins a secret society of 'sorcerers' whose innate abilities help them rid the world of demon-like creatures called Curses.

The show aired its first season in 2020 and released a highly-successful prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, in 2021.

Last year, Kayleigh McKee, who played the lead character Yuta Okkotsu in the movie, expressed interest in returning as the character in the show's second season.

"I would certainly love it if that happened," she said. "Honestly, I know nothing of where Yuta will go from here, if anywhere, but I do know that if he comes back, I would be very excited to explore him further evolving and maturing."

Jujutsu Kaisen season one is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
