The Detroit Pistons finished the 2022 Las Vegas Summer League with a blowout victory.

The Pistons defeated the Orlando Magic, 102-86, thanks to strong performances from several of their Summer League signings. Jules Bernard scored a team-high 22 points, tallied nine rebounds, and three assists.Charlie Moore added 21 points, eight assists, five rebounds and two steals.

Stanley Umude reached double figures in scoring for the third time in four games, tallying 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting, including 3-for-5 from 3. Two-way forward Braxton Key had 15 points. Detroit finished Summer League with a 3-2 record.

Once again, the Pistons were without their core players. Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren both sat on the sideline. Killian Hayes, Saben Lee, Isaiah Livers and Isaiah Stewart also sat out.

Bernard, Moore finish strong

It had largely been a quiet summer league for Bernard, a 6-foot-6 wing out of UCLA, and Moore, a 5-11 point guard who played for Miami (Florida). Both players had each previously reached double figures once — Bernard scored 14 points against the Cavaliers on 4-for-10 shooting Thursday, and Moore posted 13 points and five assists against the Pacers on Tuesday.

They each had their best game of Summer League against the Magic. Bernard caught fire in the third quarter, scoring 14 of his 22 points in the period. He hit five of his six shots, all three of his 3-point attempts and all nine of his free throws. His highlight play was a four-point play with 3:31 to play in the third giving the Pistons a 57-53 lead.

Moore took over in the fourth, scoring 16 of his 21 points. It took a few quarters to find his scoring rhythm, but he immediately impacted the game as a playmaker. He assisted back-to-back Umude 3-pointers in the opening period, with the first being a no-look drive-and-kick.

Detroit was light on playmaking which gave Moore the golden opportunity, shooting 9-for-14 from the field and 3-for-5 from 3.
