Julianne Hough, an Emmy winner who made a punchy Broadway debut in the comedy “POTUS” last year, will host the opening 90 minutes of this year’s Tony Awards with Skylar Astin, the show said Wednesday.

Hough, 34, and Astin, 35, are set to warm up for Ariana DeBose, who is scheduled to take over hosting duties when the 76th annual Tony Awards transition from the streaming platform Pluto TV to CBS at 8 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday.

Broadway’s premier awards show is moving uptown to Washington Heights’ United Palace this spring, departing from its traditional Midtown Manhattan setting.

The streaming portion of the show, called “The Tony Awards: Act One” is set to start at 6:30 p.m., with the main event running until 11 p.m.

Astin is known for his role as Jesse Swanson in the “Pitch Perfect” films. Hough won her Emmy for “Dancing With The Stars” and has appeared in films and on TV.

DeBose, the 32-year-old star of the stage who won an Oscar for the 2021 film remake of “West Side Story,” is serving as the main Tonys host for the second straight year.

Nominees for this year’s Tonys were announced last month. “Some Like It Hot” landed a field-topping 13 nominations, including a nod in the coveted best musical category.
