Julianne Hough Surprises Her Mom With New House for Mother’s Day
Julianne Hough went one giant step beyond breakfast in bed this Mother’s Day, surprising her mom, Marriann, with a brand-new home. “Is this your house, Mom?” Hough asks Marriann in a sweet video she shared to Instagram Sunday. An excited Marriann responds back, “This is my house!” and goes on to hug the leaf-covered banister of the front porch and a large tree situated just outside the front of the home.
“Oh my gosh, I just realized that this is my tree!” she says. “It’s on a little hill, and look at this walkway, and the rocking chairs.…”
Though it’s unclear exactly where Marriann’s new home is located, Julianne is currently self-isolating in Los Angeles, where she owns a home in the Hollywood Hills, so it’s safe to assume that Marriann’s property is nearby. In photos that Hough shared to her social media, there appears to be a white picket fence protecting the home from the street, with a well-manicured lawn out front. The home boasts a bay window and crisp white trim that runs along the edges of the khaki-colored siding.
The Hough family spent the earlier part of Mother’s Day over at Julianne’s house, with Marriann sharing glimpses into the Dancing With the Stars performer’s meticulously designed home on her own Instagram page. Details include a formal dining room boasting a raw wood table, plus a kitchen with a white subway tile backsplash and cabinets painted a custom mix of baby blue and green. A breakfast nook just off the kitchen has direct access to the backyard through a set of French doors; out back, a covered dining terrace surrounded by greenery offers up the perfect spot for some alfresco dining.
