Julius Caesar's assassination spot opens to public
STORY: You can now visit the ancient square where it's believed Julius Caesar was killed

Visitors can walk among the Largo Argentina square's archeological treasures
Roman ruler Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC by a rival group of senators
It's believed this is where it happened, as told by Shakespeare in his play of the same name
Rome is opening a new walkway [arrow] leading to the assassination site
and exhibition areas displaying artefacts
The ancient site was first discovered and excavated during building work in Rome in the 1920s
Italian fashion house Bulgari funded the restoration work
The ancient site is also home to the remains of four Roman temples
as well as a sanctuary for some of the city's stray cats
