July 4th events: Here's what's happening in Worcester this week
WORCESTER — The city will celebrate all things independence this week.
Thursday, June 30
The annual Independence Day Celebration at Cristoforo Colombo Park (East Park) on Shrewsbury Street begins at 4 p.m. with the opening of the park and wraps up with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
There will be a food court and games for kids. Entertainment by WXLO gets underway at 5 p.m., with a performance by local singer Ricky Duran slated for 8:15 p.m.
Sunday, July 3
Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra performs a free "Independence Day Weekend Patriotic Pops Concert" at 7:30 p.m. at Institute Park.
