July 4th Restaurant Steals & Deals: See 2020 Specials In CA

CALIFORNIA — Fourth of July's traditional parades and fireworks extravaganzas are few and far between to nonexistent this year throughout California, due to the pandemic.

But don't that let stop you from breaking out the red, white and blue and celebrating at home with a patriotic feast.

Fire up the grill as chef-prepped, barbecue-ready packages are the rage this summer. Several restaurants are making it easy for backyard grillers with pre-packed, gourmet kits of uncooked steaks, burgers and lobsters.

To keep meal prep simple, family-size offerings, complete with entrees, sides, dessert and fixings, also are available from numerous eateries for the holiday, including some with free delivery.

BLACK ANGUS: Available for takeout and free delivery only are four-serving Family Meals, priced from $64.95 to $89.95, depending on choice of chicken, steak, salmon or surf & turf. CATTLEMENS: Among menu offerings are several to-go family meal deals, including a $69.95 Take-Home Tri-Tip Family Feast that serves four and includes: a whole tri-tip with "sweet and sassy" dipping sauce; salad; baked potatoes; ranch-style beans; and sourdough bread. CHART HOUSE: Enjoy a three-course, Fourth of July Weekend special for $39 that includes starter choice of gazpacho or grilled watermelon salad, entree choice of salmon, shrimp or NY strip medallion and shrimp, plus a mini mud pie for dessert. The offer states it is for Landry's Select Club Members and only for dine-in, so check if exceptions now are planned in California for pick-up or delivery. Also offered: a choice of three Chart House Weekend Grilling Kits that feed two with options for salmon ($40), New York strip and salmon combo ($55) or filet mignon ($50); and the four-serving Family Meals To-Go, starting at $65. CHEESECAKE FACTORY: Check out this 7-Items-For-$20 deal: two double cheeseburgers; two orders of fries; any two Coca-Cola beverages; and a slice of OREO® Dream Extreme Cheesecake. The special was to run through July 5, but now ends at 4:30 p.m. July 3 due to "overwhelming demand," the chain said. Location finder here.

CURRY UP NOW: Not for July 4th, but ... if you can hold off for a couple days, the eclectic Indian chain is offering — for one day only on Monday, July 6 — a buy-one-get-one-free deal for its new Tandoori Fried Chicken Sandwich, crafted with marinated then fried chicken, topped with bombay dust aioli, pickled onions, pineapple, jalapeño and curry chutney on a brioche bun. DAIRY QUEEN: Looking for a quick snack for the Fourth? How about a chili Dog and Coke? Or a cheeseburger and a Misty Slush. Mix and match from a variety of options, and pay $4 for two. DQs are throughout the Golden State, but check to see if your locale is participating.

DEL TACO: From July 3 through July 5, score free delivery via DoorDash app when placing orders that include at least one "Epic Burrito with Beyond Meat." These recently released menu items, each wrapped in a warm, flour tortilla and weighing about 1 pound, come in four varieties: New Epic Beyond Original Mex Burrito (Vegan); New Epic Beyond Fresh Avocado Burrito (Vegan); New Epic Beyond Loaded Queso Burrito; and Epic Beyond Cali Burrito.
